Volunteer in Pokhara

Pokhara is a one of the beautiful city which is located on the banks of the Phewa Lake, it is set against the panoramic backdrop of the Annapurna range and the Fishtail Mountain. Pokhara is the main the gateway to numerous trekkings in the Annapurna Sanctuary Area and other parts. The city is well developed with excellent phone and internet access, all kinds of restaurant and a myriad of gift shops. It is about 200km away from capital city Kathmandu in the mid-western region of Nepal and located at an altitude of 900m, meaning a warmer climate than in Kathmandu. To get there takes 6 hours by bus or around 25 minutes by air. We can even place volunteers in the mountain areas around the Pokhara valley and  distance from your host family's home to the project site will be no more than 5-10 minutes.

Placement in Pokhara

Lakeside - It's one of the best and favorite touristic place. We place volunteer around Lake side. In 15/20 minutes walk from the Host family there is an access of telephone calls, Internet and supermarkets.

David's Fall - It is next to Lake Side. If you hire taxi it will takes about 15 minutes to get there.

Seti Dovan - It is 22 Kilometer far from Pokhara about 45 by drive. It is small village on the bank of Seti River and Aadhi Khola River. Telephone and bottled water available. In the weekend volunteer can go to Pokhara to use internet and purchase things.

Accommodations - simple neat and clean room with beds.

Meals - Breakfast occurs at 7:30 am and consists of a cup of tea and biscuits. Lunch is served at 9:00 to 9:30 am and is usually dal/bhat (rice, lentils, and vegetables). Dinner is at 6:30 to 7:00pm and is once more Dal/Bhat. The food is very simple but also extremely tasty and filling.

Suggestions - We advise you to bring Sleeping bag and mosquito net with you or you can always buy here which is 2-3 times cheaper than back home.

Major sightseeing in Pokhara - Phewa Lake, David's fall, Mahendra cave, sarangkot hills, World peace pagoda, Mountaineering Museum, White Gumba
